Description
Tucked away in arty Dorsoduro and beguiling guests with its verdant charm
Sits our sublime new Venetian ‘casa’, the serene Corte della Palma…
Named after the flourishing palm trees stretching up to the skies from its expansive lawned garden (all yours!) near the pretty Rio delle Romite canal, this peaceful inner sanctum with its highly desirable address promises an exceptional Venetian experience for up to 6 guests.
Fabulously positioned just a few doors down from the famous old-school Locanda Montin and one bridge (and a short alleyway) from the sparkling Zattere promenade, the recently remodelled Corte della Palma takes its interiors to the next dimension with bold design imaginatively paired with traditional pieces and object d’art.
A million miles away in mindset from the (sometimes) madding crowds of Venice and offering abundant space to kick back and let the outside world slip by, the property comprises 3 luxurious and tranquil bedrooms with accommodation spread over the ground and 1st floors (reached by stairs).
Counting Wi-Fi, air-conditioning* throughout and a washing machine / dryer amongst its attributes along with an aura that clearly announces that this is a special place indeed, the property is reached via the ‘blink and miss it’ Calle degli Occhialeri (Street of the Opticians) and comprises:
Ground Floor
A private front door opening into the entrance hall of the house which in turn leads into…
A bright and utterly delightful open-plan main living space composed of…
A sitting area with cool stone flooring (a treat for the feet during warmer weather), a large L-shaped sofa with additional velvet tub-style seating ideal for chilling, a wall-size handmade mirror with antique finish realised by Ongaro e Fuga on the nearby glass-making island of Murano, all lit by a rare and spectacular 19th-century French ‘Pampille’ crystal chandelier
Arch-headed French doors leading to a charming wooden-decked internal courtyard shaded by fabric ‘sails’, furnished with cushioned seating and doubling up as an ‘al fresco’ sitting room when the weather is fine
A stylish dining space with a contemporary dining suite hosting 6 guests lit by a second antique ‘Pampille’ chandelier, and a glazed door opening to reveal Corte della Palma’s remarkable and gorgeously grassy 200sqm walled garden boasting a wonderful furnished paved terrace / loggia illuminated by Venetian hand-blown lanterns at night for memorable dinners beneath the stars, freshly planted flower borders beside characterful herringbone paving, an ancient and very charming ‘vera da pozzo’ wellhead that would have been used in years gone by to provide the residents of the house with fresh water, and a pair of sun-loungers with parasol on a further terrace beneath the palm trees… a slice of pure heaven… who knew Venice had such gardens?!
A modern and well-equipped kitchen with sparkling marble worktops and everything one needs for rustling up an Italian feast**
A pristine contemporary bathroom in polished marble with shower
Stone stairs rising to the…
1st Floor, where we find Corte della Palma’s 3 deluxe bedrooms, each with traditional terrazzo flooring and whitewashed beams overhead…
The restful principal bedroom dressed in pink and greys with a double bed, a Les Dominotiers Sovana Grisaille bespoke panoramic wall mural from the long-established Luise Parati of Padua, and a contemporary en suite bathroom enrobed in striking grey and white marble with shower
A splendid 2nd double bedroom with delightful garden views, a double bed dressed in shades of pink, turquoise and mustard, wallpaper from the Japanese Khroma Kimono Collection by Masureel and a separate immaculate bathroom with shower shared with…
The bijou 3rd bedroom overlooking Corte della Palma’s internal courtyard,
dressed in dramatic teal blue and Midnight Walk wallpaper from Caselio and with a (small) double bed
**Alternatively get in touch for further details of ‘A TAVOLA’ – VOV’s new purpose-designed and professionally equipped Venetian Home-Kitchen – situated almost opposite Corte della Palma on the Rio delle Romite canal, where we celebrate the Italian passion for great food, wine and good company through informal, hands-on COOKING CLASSES with menus focusing on traditional Italian and Venetian cuisine along with easy-going and informative sommelier-led Italian WINE TASTINGS – we hope to see you there!
OUR COMMENT
The rare gift of a garden and a beautifully curated home brought together in a perfect package in the Dorsoduro sestiere!
A short amble to one of the last remaining gondola workshops still in operation in Venice at San Trovaso, the picturesque Campo San Barnaba, the Accademia Bridge and Galleries, the newly reopened Ca’ Rezzonico Museum of 18th century Venice, the iconic Church of the Salute, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Palazzo Cini Gallery, plus the Punta Della Dogana Center of Contemporary Art…
… Also close to a variety of fine restaurants and bars including Locanda Montin, Ristorante Riviera, Enoteca Ai Artisti, Oniga, Osteria Al Squero and Cantine del Vino già Schiavi (a favourite with the locals and home to some of the best cicchetti in town!)
An easy waterside stroll to the well-stocked Conad supermarket at the western end of the Zattere for easy self-catering and to 4 vaporetto (water bus) stops – Zattere, Zattere Spirito Santo, Accademia and Salute – for easy travel around the city (note that St. Mark’s Square can be reached by vaporetto from Salute in under 5 minutes on Line 1!)
Within easy reach of the Alilaguna boat stop connecting the Zattere to Venice's Marco Polo Airport and close to the traghetto at Calle Lanza / Calle del Traghetto San Gregorio which, during operating hours, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to the district of San Marco.

We stayed at Corte Della Palma in the Dorsoduro district, the accommodation was perfect , the surrounding area beautiful. The Views on Venice team were excellent, everything was organised clearly for us, they organised a speedboat transfer from the airport directly to our accommodation where a fine young gentleman met us to show us to our accommodation where. Amir was so helpful and informative, an absolute pleasure dealing with this company . Top marks

Views in Venice not only manage stunningly beautiful apartments, they have an exceptional concierge service that organizes a birthday dinner for 12 at their beautiful test kitchen a Tavola. The food was spectacular, the service unmatched and the warmth of every gesture was heartfelt. Thanks especially to Cristina and Enrica, who arranged every detail from airport transfers to dietary constraints. You are model of grace and perfection that made me feel like Venice is my second home!

The ULTIMATE in refinement and elegant living, with views that must surely be second to none!
Directly overlooking St. Mark’s Basilica, St. Mark’s Square and the Campanile towering tall, it’s with barely contained excitement that we welcome Due Leoni…
… A property that made us all gasp in astonishment, to describe it as ‘stunning’ would be an understatement to say the least!
Hosting 6 astute guests in trip-of-a-lifetime surroundings and (almost!) rubbing shoulders with the Torre dell’ Orologio (Clock Tower) next door, the 4 bedroom Due Leoni is as rare as it is ravishing and is bright, uplifting and exceptional throughout.
Classically furnished with grace and panache and on the 4th floor served by lift, the air-conditioned* apartment boasts gorgeous wooden parquet flooring while its walls are adorned with period paintings and prints.
‘Take-your-breath-away-wonderful’ and including Wi-Fi, the accommodation comprises -
- An airy and spacious south-facing sitting / dining room with ample comfortable seating, a beautiful Aubusson-style rug, and an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling glazed doors opening directly onto the long furnished terrace overlooking the Basilica… take a browse through its photo gallery - need we say more!
- A cosy library / relaxation area with sofa to the side where the TV, though just the thing for chilling out during downtime, inevitably ‘plays second fiddle’ to the splendid vista outside
- A streamlined, modern galley-style kitchen - well-equipped and found just to the rear of the sitting room
- A quietly elegant master bedroom to the front of the apartment with a double bed and 3 floor-to-ceiling glazed doors opening onto the terrace enjoying eye-level views towards the Basilica’s famous bronze horses and extending down to the waters of the Bacino beside the Doge’s Palace
- A beautifully presented double bedroom to the rear with double bed and a few steps leading up to an en-suite bathroom with shower
- Two very pretty chintzy single bedrooms to the middle of the apartment (and on opposite sides), one with an en-suite bathroom with shower
- A separate bathroom with bathtub to the very rear of the property, & completing the apartment…
- A laundry room with combined washing machine/dryer, ideal for longer stays
* Present in all main rooms with the exception of the kitchen
Please note that the operation of air conditioning and heating are subjected to the municipality regulation. Generally, the heating works from middle of October to middle of April, while air conditioning works between middle of Aprile to middle of October. Please contact us for further information.

100% Chic and entirely unique - one of the most remarkable rental properties in Venice today.
Standing in the iconic beating heart of ‘La Serenissima’ - St. Mark’s Square - where, at night, the orchestras of the world-famous Gran Caffe Quadri and Caffe Florian conjure up a truly magical atmosphere (music is dependent on weather and season!), while the pink and white marble of the Doge’s Palace glows, and the mosaics of the Basilica shimmer in the darkness.
A short stroll to the Rialto Bridge crossing the Grand Canal and within easy reach of 2 well-stocked supermarkets for all your self-catering requirements - one at Salizada San Lio and the other at Rialto - and to the vaporetto (water bus) stops at San Zaccaria and Vallaresso for simple and convenient travel around town.
For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival.

AN ESTABLISHED STAR ON THE VENICE SCENE!
Taking centre stage amongst our expanding galaxy of fabulous properties - a splendid 3 bedroom/3 bathroom apartment with furnished 'altana' roof terrace offering exceptional accommodation and a carefully considered mélange of the very best in Italian styling, hand-crafted furnishings, classic simplicity and luxury fittings, all very much at home within the unquestionable charm and convenience of its central yet tranquil upmarket location.
Lovingly renovated under the watchful eye of an expert team, sleeping six and with an interior masterminded by highly respected Florentine architect and interior design company ‘ArchFlorence’ (experts with impeccable credentials, whose work graces some of Italy’s finest properties), the spacious air-conditioned apartment is on the 3rd and 4th floors and lies within the refined Venetian district of San Samuele, a central and genteel little oasis of art and antique galleries just off Campo Santo Stefano in the San Marco district of the city.
Named after the nearby former San Samuele Theatre where Casanova’s mother performed as an actress and moments from where he was born to become one of Venice’s most celebrated sons, Ca' Del Teatro has a large and impressive open plan living space combining sitting, dining and kitchen areas and featuring subtle and sophisticated colours, chic upholstery, all the latest appliances plus a modern open-sided staircase leading to a superb clear glass-sided landing overlooking the area below.
Magnificent weathered timbers given a rustic whitewash finish further emphasise the age, character and lofty proportions of the property while internet connection plus a washing machine allow for an eminently practical stay whatever the duration.
Also on this level are two gorgeous bedrooms - one in complementary shades of mocha and mulberry with double bed and mirrored wardrobe, the other a twin in lime and bitter chocolate and both with roomy and sumptuously appointed bathrooms (one with shower, the other with shower and bathtub). Move on upstairs to a further plush bedroom, this time in violet and lavender shades and featuring a richly button-backed French-size bed, moroccan style mirroring and an en suite shower room with w.c.
And to top it all beautifully, access to one of Ca’ Del Teatro’s stellar attractions - a super ‘altana’ roof terrace enjoying spectacular views towards the Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art and perched up on high for surveying the scene.

A class act and fantastically positioned...
...within steps of a grocery store, a wine shop and a range of cafes/osterie.....plus the gallery of interior designer Chiarastella Cattana - a discreetly sophisticated showroom of fine and distinctively woven textiles and furnishings and, for scent-lovers, the Venice outlet of the famous Florentine ‘Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’ – one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and one time fragrance maker to Catherine de’ Medici.
Conveniently close to the vaporetto stops at San Samuele and Sant' Angelo for easy travel around the city, the 'Traghetto' gondola ferry which, during operating times, carries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal between Calle Del Tragheto (near Sant’ Angelo) and San Toma in the district of San Polo.
Beds will be arranged as either doubles or twins as shown in the photos. The possibility of turning a double bed into twins or vice versa can be found in the description and must be requested at least 7 days before arrival.
